Antigua, Guatemala is a magical colonial city perched high in the mountains and surrounded by active volcanoes. Recently, my husband and I celebrated our 4th anniversary in this charming city and then a few days later found ourselves back in Antigua as we had been forced to evacuate our hotel on Lake Atitlan due to inclement weather.
My heart swelled as we walked the cobblestone streets, toured elaborate churches, sampled local fare (lots of tortillas and beans) and cycled the city.
Very soon, I will be posting about our fabulous hotel and my picks for Antigua but for now, just enjoy the view. Oh- perhaps this scene looks familiar? The summer 2010 J. Crew catalog was shot in Antigua and Tikal.
