This monring, I grabbed my reusable bags and headed to the local Farmer's Market to grab some delicious ingredients for the week. In my book, nothing tastes better than freshly picked fruits and vegetables. I love the crispness and flavor that sometimes seem to be lacking in the store bought variety.
My strategy is to buy what looks the best and then find the recipes later. This morning, I was delighted to find the most beautiful Neon Lights Swiss Chard (isn't the 90's chic name pure perfection? I am not one to resist with a name like that), huge carrots, beets, asparagus and free range vegetarian feed eggs.
Have you explored your local market? If not, then now is the perfect time to do so! Take a moment to talk to the farmers, they often have the very best advise for cooking the fruits and vegetables for sale. Happy Saturday!!
