Maurice Prendergast was an Canadian-American Post-Impressionist who had a magical way of capturing the joy found in life's simple moments- a day a the beach, an afternoon in the park or a stroll on the pier. The painting above is entitled, Central Park, NYC, July 4 and though it is in a private collection, there are many Prendergast pieces in museums around the country that are available for your viewing pleasure.
