The Consummate Hostess

This painting is entitled Salem Cove and it was painted by the American artist Maurice Prendergast (1858-1924). I love his use of jewel like tones and his ability to capture joy with colors. Salem Cove is a part of the permanent collection at The National Gallery in Washington D.C.
