John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) is known as an American Impressionist. Born in Florence, Italy to American parents, he would be become one of the greatest society painters of his day. The above painting is Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose and can be found at the Tate Gallery, in London.

That is a beautiful painting!
He did such beautiful work. I remember seeing one of his portraits when we toured Biltmore. Just lovely.
He is one of my favourite artists!
